Neither nor

 

I don't like tea. I don't like coffee.

Farid likes neither tea nor coffee.

The movie wasn't good. The movie wasn't bad.

The movie was neither good nor bad.

 

Subject verb agreement:

 

My sister is not here. My brother is not here.

Neither my sister not my brother is here.

 

My sisters are not here. My brother is not here.

Neither my sisters nor my brother is here.

Neither my brother nor sisters are here.

 

The subject that is closer to the verb determines whether the verb is singular or plural.

 

Also:

Neither + noun + nor + noun = correct

Neither + adjective + nor + adjective = correct

Neither + adjective + nor + noun = incorrect

Neither + noun + nor + adjective = incorrect

 

 

Questions: 

 

Use "neither nor" to combine the sentences! 

 

1- Christian doesn't like video games. He doesn't like movies either.

2- My friends are not here. My family members are not here.

3- Dr. Smith's book is not bad. Dr. Henry's book is not bad.

4- He didn't call me. He didn't text me. 

5-  David doesn't like read. David doesn't work out.
